Scuba divers describe the PADI Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they’ve ever taken. Why? Because you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water and become more confident in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed. During the course, you learn to become a better buddy by practicing problem-solving skills until they become second nature. Plus, the course is just fun – it’s serious, and challenging, but still allows for laughter in between the focused learning.

In order to take the Rescue Diver course, PADI requires that you have a current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.  If you do not have this certification, you will want to sign up for the EFR course that is scheduled the day before the Rescue class is scheduled to begin.

Our Rescue class incorporates the Emergency Oxygen Provider course with the Rescue Diver course. We do this because Emergency Oxygen Provider teaches you valuable skills in the event you need to help during a rescue anywhere (in the office, gym, work, on a boat, etc.) Additionally, during the Rescue class you will be using oxygen cylinders and you will need to know how to assemble, operate and handle them safely.

The Rescue class has a 4 person minimum in order to have the class.

Our Rescue Diver program is scheduled as follows READ BEFORE SELECTING DATES:

  • Our first session, on Saturday, we have the Emergency First Response (EFR) Primary and Secondary Care w/ AED course.  If you already have the EFR Primary and Secondary Care w/AED or equivalent, you do not have to take this course, you need to provide your certifications to the Shop prior to the start of the course.  If you need this course, you will need to sign up for it in addition to the Rescue Course.

  • Our second session is the next day, Sunday, and we will either meet at the Education Center or meet at the pool (class location dependant) where we will start the day in learning the hands on portion of the Emergency Oxygen Provider course.  After that is complete, we will move out or over to the pool and begin working on the skills required for the Rescue Diver course.

  • Our third and fourth days will be in open water practicing the skills and performing scenarios required for the completion of the Rescue Diver course.
  •

YOU MUST BE SIGNED UP FOR THIS CLASS 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE CLASS – Forms and eLearning must be done 3 days prior to the first night of class. Additionally, if there are any reasons that you would need to get a physician to sign your medical release for the course this must also be done and submitted by 3 days before the first class date.

If the eLearning or forms are not completed 3 days prior to the start of the class, you will need to be rescheduled to another class and a $100 rescheduling fee will be assessed.
