SDI Hunt & Collect
The Hunt & Collect Diver course teaches divers the proper techniques, responsibilities, and safety skills involved in harvesting marine life in a controlled, ethical, and environmentally respectful manner. Whether targeting invasive species, collecting permitted seafood, or participating in conservation-based removal dives, this course provides the practical knowledge divers need to operate safely and responsibly.
Students learn how to identify local species, understand collection regulations, and apply efficient underwater hunting techniques while maintaining excellent buoyancy and situational awareness. With hands-on practice, divers gain confidence using tools such as tickle sticks, nets, pole spears, and collection bags—all while minimizing impact on the surrounding ecosystem.
